| RdB has posted another screenshot of Blade, picturing the Barbarian in fight with two Orcs. What's that effect appearing at the back of the Barbarian? Take a look and see if you recognize what this might be! |

New Screenshot - posted by Dr.Haggard @ 23:19
| Our friends over at El Rincón de Blade have posted a brand new screenshot depicting the Dwarf standing overlooking a river in some kind of undergound tunnel, very dimly lit and thick with fog. It's very dark, so turn your brightness up and head on over. Go here for an english translation of the site. |

Creative Weapons - posted by Dr.Haggard @ 23:06
| As you may know, Blade's incredibly realistic engine will allow players to pick up almost any object in the game and use it as a weapon. This feature could certainly come in handy at difficult times. But what sort of objects are you likely to find lying around the place? Chairs, tables, torches? Rocks perhaps? But how about limbs, recently amputated from your last unfortunate foe? Yes, Blade apparently has a system already implemented that makes it possible to pick up a Traitor Knight's amputated arm, for instance, and beat his friend to death with the wet end (please address letters of complaint for that last sentence to [email protected]). However, it has become apparent during discussions on the Rebel Act Forums that this feature may have to be left out of the final game, at least in the international version. Now some people may not miss it if it isn't there, but if anyone would really like to be able to try out this feature, even if it's not enabled by default, I suggest using the comments feature below this news item by way of a friendly petition. It may not do any good but it's worth a try :-)

New Distributor - posted by Dr.Haggard @ 22:38
| Quite a bit of interesting new information has been extracted from Juan on the Rebel Act Forums recently, the most notable of which being that a distributor for Blade has been found for the rest of the world (ie outside Spain and South America), and although Rebel Act have not made an official announcement to this effect, and no names have been given, Juan gives the impression that all that's left to do is dot the i's and cross the t's. Good news indeed. On a related note, there is talk of a 'special collectors edition' of Blade being released in limited numbers. At the moment there are no promises, and we certainly don't know what might be in it, but there's plenty of speculation on the forums (t-shirt, map, audio cd etc). However Juan says that this is being planned with Friendware (distributor of Blade for Spain and South America), so the rest of us might not be able to buy it. Still roughly on the subject of distribution, though this time not exactly cause for celebration, it seems that unfortunately there will be no Linux version of Blade. Demo Confirmed - posted by Dr.Haggard @ 21:50 | |
| The guys over at Spanish site El Rincón de Blade have been busy again. First and foremost they report on a post by Juan (Rebel Act CEO) on the Rebel Act Forum, that the Blade demo will be released after the summer, ahead of the games release. As for what will be included in the demo, Juan is keeping his lips sealed. In further posts on the Rebel Act forum, in answer to some questions about the game save feature in Blade, Juan confirmed that there will be no restrictions on where or how many times you will be able to save your game. Also, as promised, Samsagaz has completed the enemies section in his overview of the game, joining his articles on the weapons and armour and the game characters. If you need it, a babel fish will help you translate this little lot. |

Of course, this is all in Spanish, so you might need to use a Babel Fish. You'll also notice on the news page they've posted another screeshot, but unfortunately this time it isn't a new one. |

New Screenshot - posted by Warlock @ 22:55
| I just noticed that our colleagues over at the Spanish fan-site, El Rincón de Blade, have posted a new and beautiful screenshot of Blade. The picture shows the Dwarf toddling around in a pretty cosy looking room, decorated with some body parts of what seems to be the remains of a zombie. You'll find a thumbnail for the new screenshot on the main page of RdB. |
