DeadAlfs have posted a review of Severance giving it 9\10 overall. It's worth checking out. The article is very well written, and is full of quotable material, but here's a taste:

You raise your left arm to parry the creature's attack, but your pitiful wooden shield smashes into pieces. Angered by your sudden vulnerability you lash out with an overhead axe swing, but the Orc is too fast. He's already behind you. You don't even have time to heave your weapon up before your legs are severed from underneath you. Lying on the floor helplessly, the last thought that occurs to you is that this game really is nothing like Rune. In Severance you really have to learn how to fight.
